Womenswork.art presents- UNAPOLOGETIC: LINDSEY GUILE

Womenswork.art is thrilled to present feminist artist and SUNY/DCC Fine Arts Professor Lindsey Guile in a solo show of drawings entitled UNAPOLOGETIC. Lindsey’s primarily large scale drawings celebrate her unabashed commitment to the Body Positive social movement, which supports women in accepting their bodies and reframing their self-image. In Lindsey’s work she asks the question: What are the factors that shape and mold the way we look at ourselves and others? Between the mirror or camera lens and the self are the fleeting interactions that inform our emotional connection with ourselves that become the basis of self-loathing or self-love. Combining elements of abstraction with classical figuration Lindsey explores this turf.
